Naruto: All Forms Of Naruto Uzumaki, Ranked By Strength

Naruto Uzumaki is the Seventh Hokage of Konohagakure and also the strongest shinobi in the world of Naruto. He is the Jinchūriki of Kurama, also known as the Nine-Tails, and has access to the chakra of all the other Tailed Beasts as well.

RELATED:Naruto: All Of Naruto's Jinchuriki Forms In Order Of Appearance

Over the years, Naruto Uzumaki has developed several powerful forms all varying in the amount of power that they carry. Each of these forms helped him overcome the biggest threats to him and his village. By now, he has mastered his powers to a great degree and rose to the top of the shinobi era using his skill with these forms.

7 One-Tailed Cloak

The first proper form of Naruto Uzumaki was used by him during his fight against Sasuke Uchiha at the Valley of the End. As the two fought, Naruto tapped into his Nine-Tails chakra and managed to match Sasuke Uchiha in his Cursed Mark Stage 3.

This form was quite impressive as it granted a great amount of chakra to him, along with giving him the ability to heal from severe injuries. By the Fourth Great Ninja War, Naruto's control allowed him to bestow this power to others as well.

6 Four Tails Transformation

With time, the Eight Trigrams Seal that Minato Namikaze had placed on Naruto Uzumaki got weaker, and thus, more of the Nine Tail's chakra started leaking out. When enraged, Naruto could eventually access great power with four tails, however, in return, he would also end up losing all control of his senses.

RELATED: Naruto: 5 Ways Naruto Changed Throughout The Show (& 5 Times He Regressed)

This was first seen during his training with Jiraiya, and later when he fought against Orochimaru. Its powers were such that even one of the Legendary Sannin couldn't defeat him with all the power that he had at his disposal.

5 Six Tails Form

During Naruto Uzumaki's fight against Pain during the Pain's Assault arc, Hinata's apparent death caused him to lose control over himself and access the power of the Nine-Tails once again. This time, instead of four, he tapped into more power and manifested six tails. Furthermore, Naruto also gained a Kyuubi skeleton on top of his body.

In terms of power, Naruto was much stronger than he was with Four Tails. Even Pain, with all the power that he possessed, had trouble dealing with him. Naruto, in this form, was strong enough to resist and break free from Hashirama's Sealing Jutsu. Ultimately, he fell to Pain's Chibaku Tensei.

4 Eight Tails Form

Also used by Naruto Uzumaki during his fight against Pain, the Eight-Tails form is an incredibly strong power that he accessed once he was trapped within the Chibaku Tensei. Losing further control over himself, Naruto let most of the power of the Nine-Tails loose and gave off quite a menacing aura.

Even a Sealing Jutsu as powerful as the Chibaku Tensei of the Rinnegan wasn't enough to hold him in place. What's more, Naruto could also spit fire in this form, which is an ability unique to it so far. Thankfully, he was stopped from transforming into the Nine-Tails by his father, Minato Namikaze, who had sealed his chakra inside the Eight Trigrams Seal.

3 Nine-Tails Chakra Mode - Partial

The Nine-Tails Chakra Mode was accessible to Naruto Uzumaki once he gained control over the powers of the beast that was sealed within him. To achieve this, Naruto sought the help of Killer Bee, a Perfect Jinchūriki. After a lot of training, Naruto Uzumaki had to fight and defeat the Nine-Tails and rip out its chakra from its body.

Although strong, Naruto failed to do this and that's where Kushina Uzumaki stepped in. Thanks to her help, he was able to take chakra from it and gain a power known as the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode. This form granted him tremendous strength, speed, and the ability to sense negative emotions as well. Its powers were heavily demonstrated during the Fourth Great Ninja War and even his shadow clones had become powerful enough to take on and defeat Kage level shinobi.

2 Kurama Chakra Mode

Towards the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War, Naruto Uzumaki finally managed to get to the hate inside of Kurama and make him have a change of heart. With Kurama himself at his side, Naruto no longer needed to trap him in a torii seal within his body.

The two formed a bond with each other and Kurama gave him full access to his chakra. This power was much greater in comparison to Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, however, it also needed quite some time for Naruto to get used to. Even someone as strong as Obito Uchiha and Madara Uchiha couldn't help but acknowledge Naruto's strength when in this form.

1 Six Paths Sage Mode

The strongest form of Naruto Uzumaki, Six Paths Sage Mode was granted to him by none other than Hagoromo Otsutsuki, the Sage of Six Paths himself. Naruto attained this power during the Fourth Great Ninja War, shortly before fighting Six Paths Madara.

The power he gained from Hagoromo drastically increased his strength to the point where he could even combat Madara Uchiha and Kaguya Otsutsuki. Using the chakra of the Tailed Beasts, he became nigh-unstoppable. As an adult, this form of Naruto has undergone quite some changes in appearance, however, it remains strong as ever.

Naruto's New Final Form Baryon Mode Explained

Naruto's new Nine-Tails form is revealed in full by the Boruto sequel series. But what is Baryon mode? And what exciting powers does it bring?

Here's everything we know so far about Naruto's Baryon Mode. Over the course of his ninja career, Naruto Uzumaki has unlocked a host of different forms and transformations. The toad-inspired Sage Mode, the jinchuriki Nine-Tails Mode, and the "I finally made friends with my inner demon" Kurama Mode are the three most common in Naruto's arsenal. While new power-ups are a staple of many action anime and manga franchises, most fans would've assumed that Naruto peaked once the spotlight turned to his son in the eponymous Boruto: Naruto Next Generations series.

However, Boruto recently revealed that the Seventh Hokage had yet to reach his final form. Pushed to the limit by the emergence of a new villain, Isshiki Otsutsuki, Naruto was being soundly beaten in his standard Kurama Mode, even with the assistance of Sasuke Uchiha. When all seemed lost, Kurama revealed a previously unknown ace Naruto could still call upon, albeit at the cost of his life. Boruto chapter 51 only offered a tantalizing glimpse at Naruto's new mode, but chapter 52 lifts the lid fully on this unexpected transformation.

Related: Why Boruto Is A Worse Protagonist Than Naruto

Naruto's new form is officially called Baryon Mode, and according to Kurama, involves smashing Naruto's chakra and the Nine-Tails' chakra together in a manner similar to nuclear fusion, creating an entirely new energy. The Baryon title is derived from a type of scientific particle, and while the real-world Baryon won't turn you into a demonic killing machine, the name does at least allude to the nuclear nature of Naruto's latest upgrade. As revealed by the issue's cover page, Naruto's usual orange-yellow glow is now replaced by the bold red color of Kurama's fur, which forms a sleek coat around him with tails protruding from the back. Naruto's face and hair take on traits of the Nine-Tails, and an Uzumaki logo with the tails of Kurama spinning off forms on his chest, representing their fusion.

In terms of power, Baryon Mode is far beyond any of Naruto's other transformations. Where the Hokage was struggling to even land a decent strike in Kurama mode, he effortlessly dodges Isshiki's attacks in Baryon mode, and can knock the Otsutsuki villain down with a single, well-placed elbow. Perhaps the greatest benefit of Baryon Mode is the poisonous effect each blow inflicts upon an opponent. With every strike Naruto makes, Isshiki's life is gradually chipped away, somewhat akin to radiation poisoning. As Kurama describes it, simply hitting the target is enough to claim victory while fighting in Baryon mode. Unfortunately, this power comes with a major drawback. Naruto's previous forms involved fusing chakra with Kurama and then un-fusing once the battle ended. In Baryon Mode, the chakra of both Naruto and Kurama is used up, and unable to be replenished - hence why the form will supposedly end in death.

While Baryon Mode is clearly streaks ahead of Naruto's other states, it's difficult to say whether this is his most powerful form in the entire history of the series. Baryon Naruto is dominant against Isshiki, but the Otsutsuki isn't currently fighting with the full extent of his power. Sage of Six Paths Naruto was competitive against Kaguya Otsutsuki but required the help of Sasuke and Sakura. As things stand, Naruto's Sage of Six Paths Mode looks to be stronger than Baryon, but it's still too early to say for certain. If Naruto can somehow survive his current ordeal and master Baryon Mode to use at will (and not die each time, obviously), the transformation would be a very welcome, and very marketable, feature of Naruto mythology.

Naruto: All Of Naruto's Jinchuriki Forms In Order Of Appearance

An aspect of Naruto that separates him from his fellow Shonen heroes is the fact that he has the Nine-Tails Fox sealed within him as a newborn. This makes him a Jinchuriki, an individual that can access the power of a tailed-beast. This allows Naruto to access the charka of the Nine-Tail Fox, making him stronger than the average ninja. However, this power came at a price as using the Nine-Tail's charka caused Naruto to go berserk for most of the series.

RELATED: Naruto: 5 Ways Naruto Changed Throughout The Show (& 5 Times He Regressed)

This article will provide a chronological look at Naruto's Jinchurki forms in both the manga and anime.

10 Initial Form

The first Jinchruiki form to appear in Naruto would be the Initial Form. This form first appeared during "The Land of Wave"arc, when Naruto tapped into the Nine-Tail's Charaka due to his exhaustion from fending off Haku's Crystal Ice Mirrors Jutsu and the rage at Sasuke's apparent death.

This form sees Naruto receive enhanced strength, speed, and healing while being surrounded by a layer of the Nine-Tail's charka. The form also sees Naruto become more bestial with his voice gaining a growl, his nails start to become claw-like, and his teeth start to grow into the fangs. The form also sees Naruto take on a more violent, berserk style of fighting that empathizes brute strength over speed.

9 Demon Fox Cloak Form

Introduced during the climactic battle between Naruto and Sasuke at the end of the "Sasuke Recovery Mission" arc. The Demon Fox Cloak Mode sees the Nine-Tails Charka form a cloak of boiling charka that resembles a humanoid fox around Naruto. The physical transformations that occur during the Initial Mode also become even more pronounced.

RELATED: The 15 Best Fights In The Original Naruto Anime

One ability granted by this form is that Naruto can control the Nine-Tail's Chakra as arm and tail-like appendage that can claw at opponents or extend themselves. There are some variations like a three tails version in the "Long-Awaited Reunion" arc and a four tails variant from the anime exclusive "Powers" arc

8 Four Tails Version 2 Form

The most conceptually disturbing of Naruto's Jinchurki form would be his Version 2 Form. The Four tail variation appeared during the "Long-Awaited Reunion" arc, where Naruto allowed the Nine-Tails to take control of his body in the hope of defeating Orochimaru. This form sees Naruto begin to physically resemble the Nine-Tails Fox with his body covered by dark red chakra.

This form grant Naruto the ability to use some of the Nine Tail's Jutsu like Tailed Beast Ball. This comes at a cost as the Nine-Tails' charka continuously burns Naruto's skin. While the Nine-Tails' chakra heals Naruto enough to keep him alive, the form if used many times will cut down Naruto's life span.

7 Six Tails Version 2 Form

A slightly more creepy version of the Verison 2 mode appeared during the "Pain's Assualt"arc. This form appeared when Naruto, overwhelm by Pain's power, gives control of his body to the Nine-Tails. This form is similar to the four tails version, except for a couple of key differences.

RELATED: 15 Best Naruto & Hinata Moments, Ranked

One is that the Nine-Tails' chakra manifests a fox's skeleton over Naruto's body, greatly increasing his physical strength. This form also sees the Nine-Tails gain more  control of Naruto's mind, mainly in that he can now start to manifest his full physical form.

6 Eight Tails Partial Transformation Form

To escape from Pain's Planetary Devastation Jutsu, Naruto broke the seal that sealed the Nine-Tails within him. This unleashed a mode that appears similar to the Nine-Tails' physical form. The main difference is that this mode lacks furs with the Nine-Tails' muscle only manifesting around Naruto's body.

While this form only appears for a brief time, it appears to have the full strength of the Nine-Tails being able to shatter the small planetoid imprisoning him. This form, however, triggered a failsafe in Naruto's seal allowing him to regain control before the Nine-Tails could be reborn.

5 Nine-Tails Chakra Form

In the lead-up of the "Fourth Shinobi World War" arc, Naruto decides to train with fellow Jinchurki Killer B to gain control of the Nine-Tails. The result of this training is the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode that allows Naruto to use the Nine-Tails' chakra while retaining full mental control over the Tailed Beast.

The mode manifests itself as the Nine-tails' charka coats Naruto in a yellow chakra that has Sage of the Sixth Paths' mark manifested on Naruto's body. This form greatly enhanced Naruto's strength and allowed him to manifest miniature versions of the Tailed Beast Ball. This mode has a limitation in that Naruto cannot use his natural Chakra, which the Nine Tails can take for himself and kill Naruto.

4 Kurama Form

After befriending the Nine-Tails Fox and learning its real name, Kurama, Naruto can now access a more powerful version of the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode. This mode appears similar to the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode except for different markings and the chakra also manifesting a coat for Naruto to wear.

RELATED: Naruto: 5 Toughest Fights Of Naruto Uzumaki (& 5 Easiest)

This form grants Naruto the full power of the Nine-Tail Fox while still retaining his human form. He can also manifest parts of Kurama's body at will. This form also grants Naruto the power to transfer his chakra to others to boost their power.

3 Incomplete Tailed Beast Form

While most of Naruto's anime exclusive Jinchuriki Forms are simply variants of the above forms, there is one unique to the anime. That form being the Incomplete Tailed Beast Form. This form manifests during the "Powers"arc that sees Naruto being unable to fully transform into the Nine Tail Fox.

This form manifests is a chakra manifestation of the Nine-Tails Fox with the chakra having a blobby texture and appearance. While this form allows Naruto to grapple with larger foes, it lacks the power and ability of the Tailed Beast Form.

2 Tailed Beast Form

Thanks to Naruto making peace with Kurama, Naruto can now manifest the Nine-Tails Fox around him while retaining mental control over it. This form looks like the Nine-Tail Fox's Physical form except it has the coloration and markings of Naruto's Kurama form.

RELATED: Naruto: 10 Characters Stronger Than The Five Kage, Ranked

Naruto in this form can use all of his Jutsus giving the form a versatility in its attack. The form also grants Naruto the same power as Kurama but works better in fighting giant opponents. Naruto was also shown in "The Last: Naruto the Movie"to be able to now manifest this form separately from his physical body.

1 Asura Kurama Form

The most recently revealed of Naruto's Jinkurchi forms is the Asura Kurama Form. Thanks to Naruto receiving part of the Sage of the Six Paths' chakra, Naruto can now fuse his Tailed Beast Form with those of two Shadow Clones creating this Form. This form appears similar to that of the Tailed Beast Form, but now has six arms and three faces.

This form appears to be Naruto's most powerful form, being able to take on Sasuke, who has similarly received part of the Sage of the Six Paths power in the series finale battle. The most powerful ability being a Jutsu that combines the Rasenshuriken and the Tailed Beast Ball into one powerful attack.
