The Rap community has suffered another tragic loss, this time in Pennsylvania. The Rap industry isn't unfamiliar with artists passing away due to street violence and it's being reported that a popular rapper from Pittsburgh has been killed. We've witnessed other losses to gun violence including Nipsey Hussle, Pop Smoke, King Von, and several others, and loved ones of rapper Flatline Nizzy have taken to social media to tribute the fallen artist.
Pittsburgh's Action News 4 reported on the rapper's death, stating that Nizzy, real name Nathan Freeman, was found dead on Monday (May 3).
The 24-year-old rapper was reportedly located in McKees Rocks around 1:30 a.m. following a call that there was a shooting somewhere near the location. It was quickly determined that Freeman had been shot in the head.
At the end of March, Freeman was promoting his project Rent Due on Instagram when she shared this caption: "Everybody on this project [one hundred emoji]. 12:00 March 28th make it year since I wasn’t pose b here [target emoji][fingers crossed emoji]. Been missin in action cuz police hating on me nothing but crabs in a bucket out here [one hundred emoji] I accept everything that come wit it it’s what I chose."
Allegheny County authorities are investigating the case but at the time of this publication, there haven't been any suspects or persons of interests named publicly.
Pittsburgh Rapper Flatline Nizzy Shot and Killed at Age 24
Flatline Nizzy, aka Daddy OPP, has reportedly died at age 24.
According to the Post-Gazette, the Pittsburgh rapper was shot and killed at around 1:30 a.m Monday in the McKees Rocks borough. Responding officers reportedly found Nizzy—legal name Nathan Freeman—inside an SUV parked in the middle of the street. The artist had sustained a gunshot wound to the head and pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not confirmed whether any suspects have been identified and/or arrested in connection to the fatal shooting.
“Detectives are continuing their work,” Allegheny County police said in a statement to the Post-Gazette on Thursday, “but there is nothing we can comment on just yet as the case remains open and active.”
Nizzy released his debut single “I Gaat,” about five years ago, and delivered his first mixtape, Landlord Livin, in 2017. The rapper, who hails from the Hill District and the North Side, released his March 28th project at the end of March. The effort spanned 12 tracks and included a contribution from Boss Choc.
“Been missin in action cuz police hating on me nothing but crabs in a bucket out here,” he wrote the day before dropping March 28t. “I accept everything that come wit it it’s what I chose 🤷🏾♂️… loading up BIG STAIN.”
The hip-hop world has suffered a number of losses over the past several months, including the deaths of Black Rob, Digital Underground’s Shock G, and DMX. Nizzy, who would’ve celebrated his 25th birthday this month, shared the following post about a week after the latter rapper’s death.

As of the time of writing this article, his cause of death has not been made known to the public but sources claimed he was murdered in Pittsburgh shooting.
Flatline Nizzy popularity in the music sphere grew from Soundcloud. He started uploading online through Soundcloud for four years.
His first single was “I Gaat” which was released on May 21 2016. The song got the attention of music lovers.
Nizzy’s all-time record was “YuKnw” released in 2016. The song record half a million views on Youtube and millions of streams on music streaming websites.

That project was his biggest, with 12 songs on the mixtape. It gained thousands of streams on Soundcloud.
Nizzy is a verified artist on Spotify and one of his tracks, Packs In, has over 270,000 streams.

The 26-year-old has also worked with rap super star Wiz Khalifa on his 2018 track Favorite. “Nizzy has had the track for a while and Wiz just recently hopped on it,” DJ Afterthought, the track’s producer, said in 2018.

Unconfirmed reports have began to circulate that the rapper has passed away. The cause of the apparent death is as yet also unconfirmed.
One man, who said he is a cousin of the rapper from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, wrote on Facebook, appearing to confirm the death.
The man, named Broadhead Nina on the social media site, said: “This all I’m going say anybody say anything disrespectful about my cousin Flatline Nizzy it’s going to the last words love u lil cousin fr [for real].”

Flatline’s father Nate Freeman appeared to confirm the death by changing his profile picture to a picture of Flatline Nizzy, with tributes flowing in.
Details around the alleged death are scarce but rumours online suggest the rapper was shot in another Pittsburgh shooting.
Popular hip hop Twitter page Daily Loud led the tributes to the musician, writing “RIP Nizzy” alongside a picture of the smiling rapper.
“RIP to another #PghHipHop legend @Flatline_Nizzy,” read another tribute.

McKEES ROCKS, Pa. — Pittsburgh rapper Flatline Nizzy was identified as the man found shot and killed in an SUV early Monday morning.
Police said the shooting was reported around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Vine and Sarah streets. Nathan Freeman, 24, of Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood was found shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police had the area blocked off while they gathered evidence from the SUV, which was stopped in the middle of the street.
Flatline Nizzy’s collaboration with Jimmy Wopo was starting to gain traction, according to HipHopDx.com. He’s talked about his criminal past and trouble with law enforcement on social media.

Freeman’s family said his love for rap began at a young age and he was being scouted by a label.
“There’s a lot of talented rappers but my brother was my favorite rapper because I felt everything he said in his music,” his sister told Channel 11. “I just wish it wasn’t the streets that took him. I wish they could’ve made it out of Pittsburgh. I always want to see someone make it out of Pittsburgh. That was my brother’s goal, to get up out of here.”
“When you start having success in our city, you really have to leave here. You can’t really come back here to visit. There is so much hatred. No one wants to see you win in our city,” Freeman’s father said.
